the horror… the horror

WARNING - these pictures are graphic.
Penguin is a victim of at terrible crime.  he survived the attack, but he has been left eyeless.  whoever did this is cruel beyond belief.
Penguin is resting comfortably with his friends, and learning to cope with his blindness.  he is hoping to learn to read braille, once he's gotten over the emotional trauma.

Lion King - she ate your foot.  I caught her doing it, so the damage was minimized.  I hope she has a good lawyer.
it was only a flesh-wound.  a few stitches and Lion King was good as new, after a few weeks of re-hab he will be able to walk without a limp.

WARNING - the next image is extremely graphic.

after careful analysis of the remains we determined that this was Hedgehog.  the face was completely gone, along with much of his extremities.  Unfortunately there was little hope for Hedgehog without a face.  Rest in peace, Hedgehog.

even you aren't safe around here, Baby Spritelet.
we couldn't find the ear, so Baby Spritelet will always bear the scar.  I haven't tested her hearing but I am assuming she is partially deaf now.

Pink Elephant.  you were only with us 1 day before the attack.  thankfully it's just a minor scratch.
all better!  no need for a band-aid

caught in the act.  don't let that sad face fool you.  she's sleepy and satisfied, not ashamed of her horrible actions
massive facial injuries.  don't worry Roo.  I'm the best.
facial reconstruction surgery compete.  minimal swelling and barely a scar.

OH NO NOT PIGGY!  poor Piggy!  her beautiful face!  we needed to perform an emergency facial reconstruction.  she needed a stuffing transplant into her nose too.
Smoo  is happy with our work.
not our best work.  poor sweet Piggy has a nasty scar.  she's still a favorite though

oh no - Rabbit!  we just fixed you!  another detached ear.  the attacker was caught in the act and stopped before too much damage was done.
ear reattached.  it hangs lower than the original now, but his hearing was saved.

Smoo stands accused of these crimes.  not sure if we can get a jury conviction though.  she is way too good at looking innocent.

this was a tragedy.  Baby Tiger was a favorite.  he was found in the grass, wet and dirty and covered  in mulch, with his poor skull split open and brain matter fluff scattered across the lawn.
possibly my best work yet.  total cranial reconstruction, brain fluff transplant, and some very delicate facial work.  followed by a bath.  Baby Tiger lives to cuddle another day.

Great White Shark was over confident.  he thought he was at the top of the food chain.  not true!  he cane in with a missing fin.  unfortunately, the fin was lost in the struggle.
not so top-of-the-foodchain now, huh Great White Shark?
oh Fancy Piglet.  you were so much fancier with you arm attached.  no worries, this one is easy
there you go!  and with that extra fancy fur, not even a scar!  it's a bit mangled and the shape is wonky, but I think it's a pretty good job.

poor Sad Hippo.  he came into the clinic with a partially eaten face.  missing an ear.  and whoever attacked him had also eaten green playdough.
stitched together, missing both eye and ear.  Sad Hippo is now Sad Sad Hippo

Smoo rampage.  3 animal victims.    Rabbit, Dinosaur and NeNe.  poor NeNe didn't make it.  a shame since they are on the endangered species list.  I did my best but the facial damage was just too much.
Rabbit missing a face, and an ear.
Dinosaur a horrible mess.  yes this is the same dinosaur that was just repaired.  complete arm detachment.
not bad.  Rabbit's ear is a little crooked, Dinosaur looks like he's dancing, but otherwise ok.  for now...

dinosaur.  split from crotch to chin.
a bit of a chest scar, but able to sit up.
