organ donation. it matters

the sad news - Violet didn't make it.  unfortunately the entire lower half of her face was removed, and I was unable to recover enough tissue to give her any real quality of life.  sadly, Violet is no longer with us.  there is good news to this story though.  Violet was kind and loving and giving enough to sign her organ donation card, and I happened to have a very needy patient.

 I am sure you all remember Penguin.  in an especially cruel attack Penguin lost his eyes.  both eyes amputated he was beginning to learn to rely on his other senses.  but with Violet's loss, Penguin gained a new lease on life.  I'm proud to announce the first ever inter-species eye transplant.  this is very experimental and Penguin will have to be checked regularly for rejection, he may need the help of glasses, we won't know until he's fully healed.  but he can see!

SUCCESS!!!  Please sign your organ donor card.  

poor Nala.  massive facial injuries.  this will take a lot of work.  Simba you are a very brave lion-boyfriend, but you will have to leave the room for this.

 good as new!  Lion-love can conquer all (that and a good surgeon).  Circle of life.

the plot thickens...

 Tyrone arrived presenting a deep laceration to the chin and what looks like rectal prolapse.

he went in for surgery immediately and responded well.  we expect minimal scarring

the authorities may have a harder time finding the criminal this time, during our 'after' photography session a new suspect showed himself.

Penguin is a victim of at terrible crime.  he survived the attack, but he has been left eyeless.  whoever did this is cruel beyond belief.

Penguin is resting comfortably with his friends, and learning to cope with his blindness.  he is hoping to learn to read braille, once he's gotten over the emotional trauma.

 Lion King - she ate your foot.  I caught her doing it, so the damage was minimized.  I hope she has a good lawyer.

it was only a flesh-wound.  a few stitches and Lion King was good as new, after a few weeks of re-hab he will be able to walk without a limp.

after careful analysis of the remains we determined that this was Hedgehog.  the face was completely gone, along with much of his extremities.  Unfortunately there was little hope for Hedgehog without a face.  Rest in peace, Hedgehog.
